The Interview
The faculty and students can’t wait to meet you and show you that Toronto is the best place to complete your medical education.
First, please make sure you’ve responded to your e-mail invitation!!
In spring of 2010, interviews are being held:
February 26 – 28
March 26 – 28
April 16 – 18
The interview is one of few times where current faculty and students are given the opportunity to interact with you, the applicants. We know you’ve worked extremely hard to get to this point, and are eager to meet you! Two important things happen during the interview weekend:
1. You will be interviewed!!
- One faculty and one student will meet with you for approximately 45 minutes,
and will be getting to know your personality, your values, and your
motivations.
2. You get to interview us!!
- This is your chance to get more information about U of T, and see if it’s
the right fit for you. Many students and faculty will around to mix and mingle
with you before and after your interviews. Many of you to whom we will make
offers of acceptance will be choosing between many medical schools, so take
this time to ask about things which are important to you.
Please see the schedule for specific interview times and other activities.
Interview Tips
1. Be Yourself! (Seriously, its who we want to get to know!)
2. Dress appropriately. Wear something that is comfortable, professional and neat.
3. Smile! Make eye contact with both of your interviewers.
4. Listen to the questions. Ask for clarification if you do not understand.
5. Before answering the question, take a moment to organize your thoughts.
6. Answer the question! If you are not sure if you've answered the question - ask.
7. Answer the question once and well. A good answer is clear, concise and thoughtful.
8. If you're uncomfortable with a question, say so.
9. Be honest about yourself, your experiences and your perspectives.
10. Enjoy! One day you'll look back on it like good times.
