IMAGINE News

IMAGINE is holding another community awareness lecture to highlight some of the issues faced by the under-served populations in Toronto and the role of healthcare providers working to address them.

This discussion (Cuts to Refugee Care Jeopardize Health) will be held on *Monday April 8, 5:30 - 7:00 pm in the Medical Sciences Building (1 King’s College Circle), Room 3174. We will also video-conference the talk to the Mississauga Academy of Medicine at the same time in VC Studio, HSC 170.

The speakers for this event are:
- Dr. Meb Rashid, Medical Director at the Crossroads Clinic at Women’s College Hospital and a Founding Member of Canadian Doctors for refugee health
- Paulina Wyrzykowski, Immigrant and Refugee Services Coordinator, St. Christopher House

Learn about the cuts to healthcare made by Canada’s Interim Federal Health Program effective since July 1, 2012. This is a great opportunity to engage in a dialogue and gain two unique perspectives of personal experience providing care for this vulnerable population and how the changes endanger refugee health.

We hope to see you there!!
